Basic Animation-Item Drop

The assignment was to drop 4 items of different weights and speeds. I once again took it a step further and created a story. I dropped a sword, a frog, a potion bottle and a cape. And in turn the potion turned my frog into a prince.

Basic Animation - Horse Take

In this assignment we were supposed to take a head and create a Take (a Take is kind of like a character seeing something and then showing shock and then an emotional change) We incorporated a head turn in it. I chose to go a little more difficult and turned my head into a horse head. Then we added hair. Showing movement and helping to exaggerate the Take.

Basic Animation- Egg & Skirt

We created an egg moving at three different speeds and three different angles. Then we gave it a skirt. We were working with a lot of anticipation and follow through.

Basic Animation- Walk Cycle 2

We worked on a second walk cycle but this time we were supposed to add some personality. I had a hard time trying to come up with something so I looked online and referenced Christian Bale from American Psycho. I was looking to get a confident man walk. Instead I tried to imitate his crazy dance walk right before he kills the guy with the ax.  It did not come out exactly like I wanted it to but I like it anyway.

Basic Animation - Walk 1

Here is my first walk cycle in Basic Animation. It took a lot of pieces of paper to make this work.  I really enjoyed making him walk across the page.
